Niamh O’Mahony is Chief Operating Officer (COO) & Head of Governance at Football Supporters Europe (FSE), with a background in media, communications, operations, and sports governance. Niamh spent four years on the Board of Management of Cork City FC in Ireland, before heading up a Preparatory Action (2012-23) entitled: ‘Improving Football Governance through Supporter Involvement and Community Ownership’ as the project manager in Ireland. The Action’s report was launched by the Minister of State for Sport at the Irish National Parliament, Dáil Éireann and later presented to the Irish President.
Niamh was a founding director of SD Europe (2016) and later joined the staff team as Acting CEO and Communications & Development Manager for a two-year period. She helped to found the Irish Supporters Network (2016) and Irish Football Supporters Partnership (2019), and currently sits on FAI Assembly as one of two supporter representatives.
In 2021, Niamh was elected to the National Leagues Committee (NLC) at the FAI, a committee that oversees the development of the elite domestic men’s and women’s competitions in the Republic of Ireland. She joined the FSE team as COO & Head of Governance back in April.
